I sat in the studio as the pen ran smoothly across the paper. As the words flowed perfectly I thought about my life with in the last 6 months, a lot of the things about me have changed and it was all because of her. She brought out a different side of me. “…I use to think of you in particular…” That lyric fit so perfectly because when I’m not with her, I’m thinking about her. “…I want love with the option to breathe…” and that she gives me. “…I want a hug to make me stay when I’m ready to leave…” It’s happened time after time. I lay awake at night thinking, it’s already been 6 months she should be mine. She always makes me smile and in these past 6 months I’ve been her shoulder to lean. I would love to be with her but, “…damn why she gotta be a fan.” Her name is Essence and she’s the reason for this song.
